Naruto's clone finishes explaining the situation to Obito. Sasuke wanders through the desert dimension. Obito wakes up, and is brought up to speed on the situation. Naruto evades Kaguya, who causes the surrounding landscape to attack Naruto. Naruto tries to keep the portal open, to no avail. At Black Zetsu's suggestion, Kaguya splits them up, throwing Sasuke in her desert dimension. Sasuke frees himself and Naruto with Amaterasu and Kagutsuchi. Kaguya escapes the ice, and moves in to absorb their chakra again. Naruto's shadow clone, Sakura, and Kakashi discuss Kaguya's jutsu. Sasuke teleports Kaguya between himself and Naruto, almost making physical contact, but Kaguya teleports everyone to her ice dimension, locking them in place with ice. Kakashi wonders if Jiraiya is watching Naruto save the world with perverted ninjutsu. Sakura is irate that Naruto would try that on someone so powerful, but is shocked when Naruto lands a hit on Kaguya. Naruto moves in and transforms into a group of naked men, stunning Kaguya. He engulfs Kaguya with Amaterasu, which she effortlessly absorbs. Sasuke is dubious about Naruto's strategy involving a jutsu he practiced in secret even more than the Rasengan, but agrees to try it. From afar, Sakura observes them, relaying the information to Kakashi, who is still in awe of Kaguya's power. Black Zetsu dismisses them, pointing out Kaguya can absorb all jutsu. Sasuke surmises they need to create an opening to seal Kaguya, Naruto decides to use a certain jutsu, and starts filling Sasuke in on it.
Outraged by Black Zetsu's claims, Naruto frees himself and Sasuke, disagreeing with him about those who shape shinobi history and how mothers should feel about their children. Though he was redeemed in the end, Obito spent years listening to the poisonous tales Madara and Zetsu spun for him.Episode Description:Kaguya voices her hatred for her sons. Had he been in control of the situation when he was younger, things might have gone very differently for Rin, Kakashi and Obito himself. Obito had seen too much suffering himself to be able to deny the merit of Madara's philosophy. Using the same strategy Madara used on him, Obito sowed seeds of darkness into Sasuke's already broken heart and turned him against the Hidden Leaf Village with a skewed version of the truth. By slowly turning him against his loved ones and friends, it became easier for Obito to play the part of Madara until it was time to resurrect him. Despite his rivalry with Kakashi, Obito had no darkness in his heart until Madara saved him from the collapse. Madara corrupted Obito Uchiha using the slowest and most painful power: manipulation.
And if there's no darkness, then you just create it… I taught you that in order to control people, you need to use the darkness in their hearts. Naruto's isn't a perfect solution, but human nature isn't perfect either, and it needs balance between philosophies like Madara's and Naruto's.
The interesting part is that one can imagine that the greatest points of Madara's goals to achieve peace resonated with Naruto, who did everything in his power to create a united world where the problems that plagued humanity could be solved by working together, instead of against each other. They did manage to stop him in the end, but at a great cost. Without a choice, the shinobi of their world were violently opposed to this plan, and they would do whatever it took to stop him. He believed he had a way to bring peace without war, using the Infinite Tsukuyomi. Reiterating his message, peace cannot exist without war.
It was difficult for most people to understand Madara's goals, but when Minato Namikaze asked him why he was there, his flippant answer continues to shape his overall philosophy. Oh, you know… it's fun, it's part of my plan… to start a war… to bring peace
